Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med Surg position in a general surgery unit serving renal and general medical patients, requiring a TN or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a general surgery unit with 21 beds
- Patient population includes renal medical patients (peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis) and general medical patients, ages 18 and up
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6
- Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
- 13-week contract
- Travelers may be required to float to different units or facilities within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs
- Notification of float assignments will be given prior to the scheduled shift
- Role involves caring for both renal and general medical patients, including those requiring dialysis
- Travelers may be asked to float to other units or facilities as needed
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required
- All clinical shifts are auto-offer
- Local candidates are accepted but may receive a reduced pay rate based on distance from facility
- Required to submit a copy of driver's license and references for consideration
Requirements
- Active TN or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year recent Med Surg experience
- Must provide Nursys license verification within 30 days prior to start
- Must have a US Social Security Number and home address (no international addresses accepted)
