Opportunity:
Registered Nurse - PACU
Job Details:
• Work 4x10 hour night shifts from 10:00 PM to 8:30 AM with rotating start times as needed
• No weekends, no call, and no holidays required
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• Must have at least 2-3 years Level 1 ICU experience required
• Open to candidates with over 1 year ICU/ED experience at Level 1 or 2 facility
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; CCRN and TNCC preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required
• EPIC charting system experience preferred
• 40 hours of orientation provided
• Will float within scope to ICU, main PACU, PCU, MS, ER Holding as needed
• Patient ratios of 2:1 (preop may be 1:3)
• Must pass Relias EKG exam
• Night shift must learn preoperative patient workup procedures
• Care for adults, adolescents, and geriatric population in Level 1 trauma center
• Recover patients from neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant surgeries
• Does not recover open heart surgeries or liver transplants
• Skills required: Critical care experience, dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, starting IVs, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, AV fistula/shunt care
• Must be comfortable with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract

This major academic medical center is a Magnet and Teaching Hospital with 1,273 staffed beds, operating as a Level I Trauma Center. The facility features a high-acuity PACU with 38 patient bays operating 24/7, handling an average daily census of 70-90 patients. Approximately 80% of PACU patients are admitted to the hospital following their procedures. The facility provides comprehensive specialty support including respiratory services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams, with its own PCT/transport team for the unit.
