Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVICU RN for a night shift position requiring current cardiac experience and an active SC or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) within an acute care hospital
- Patient ratio is 1:2 in the CVICU
- Schedule consists of three 12-hour night shifts (7pm-7am) with holiday rotation
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating required within scope to similar units as needed
- Epic EMR system is used
- Primary responsibility is the care of critically ill cardiac patients in the CVICU
- Royal blue scrubs are required
- All employees may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November)
- Pre-start online modules are required and must be completed before beginning the assignment
- All requested time off must be included at the time of application; approval is subject to facility needs
- Local candidates within a 60-mile radius may be considered at a reduced local rate, pending facility approval
Requirements
- Active South Carolina or compact RN license must be in hand prior to start
- Minimum of 1 year recent CVICU or cardiac nursing experience
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA required)
- Epic EMR experience is strongly preferred
- Social Security Number and driver’s license required for consideration
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Former permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least one year before applying
