Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for night shifts requiring at least two years of OR experience and a current LA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in a multi-specialty Operating Room in a Level II Trauma Center
- Specialties include ortho, cardio thoracic, ENT, GYN, plastics, vascular, ophthalmology, general surgery, trauma, urology, neurosurgery, and robotic procedures
- Night shifts consist of 3x12 hours (18:15-6:45)
- Weekend call and 3 to 4 call shifts per 4-week schedule required
- Schedule may require holiday coverage as needed and support through Mardi Gras
- Hospital provides scrubs
- Responsible for circulating duties, perioperative care, patient assessment, and coordination with surgical and anesthesia teams
- Expected to work independently during off-hours in a community hospital trauma setting
- Adhere to AORN standards and hospital policies to maintain a safe and sterile environment
- Strict RTO policy applies during Mardi Gras; minimize requests for time off between 2/13 and 2/22
- Limited RTO allowed; excessive requests may not be approved
Requirements
- Active LA or compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years Operating Room RN experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Experience circulating in a multi-specialty OR required
- Experience in a Level II Trauma Center preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify
- Returning permanent employees must have a 1 year separation before being considered
