American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with required night shifts and floating between departments.
Responsibilities- Community hospital setting with a 240-bed capacity including a 16-bed ICU
- Med/Surg Tele unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Assignment includes working with post-cath patients and ED Holding
- Telemetry monitoring required on the unit
- Night shift hours are 18:45 to 07:15, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Eight weekend shifts per six-week schedule required, including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
- Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities
- Uses Epic EMR system; experience with Epic is preferred
- No on-call required
- Care for post-cath patients and support ED Holding as needed
- Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments may be required by the unit
- Navy scrubs required as per dress code
- Free parking available on site
- Maximum of seven days of requested time off per contract allowed
- First-time travelers are considered for this position
- No travel partners accepted for this assignment
- Drug screening must be passed; no assignments given to candidates with positive or diluted results that cannot be cleared
- Annual and pre-start training modules required
- Active MO or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- At least 2 years of recent specialty Med/Surg Tele experience required with no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Telemetry monitoring experience required
- Must have completed at least one year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months
- References required: two from the past year, one must be a supervisor or higher, the other can be a charge RN
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)
