Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency care in a fast-paced ER environment
- Rapidly assess, triage, and stabilize patients presenting with acute conditions
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to deliver coordinated treatment plans
- Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care
- Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Illinois or eligibility for Illinois licensure (Compact licensure may apply)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred for ER roles
- Clinical experience in emergency or acute care settings preferred
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and team communication skills
- Ability to function effectively under pressure and adapt to changing patient volumes
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Triage and emergency assessment skills with quick, accurate decision-making
- Familiarity with emergency procedures, wound care, and IV therapy
- Comfortable using EHR systems and accurate clinical documentation
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate multidisciplinary care
- Strong time management and prioritization in high-acuity settings
