The Registered Nurse in the Med/Surg department at Mercy Hospital provides night-shift patient care in a critical access hospital setting, working with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 5:1. Responsibilities include delivering coordinated nursing care to observation, inpatient, and swing patients while collaborating with therapy services to support patient recovery. The role requires an active RN license, physical stamina, required certifications such as ACLS and BLS, and adherence to hospital policies and shift schedules including weekends and holidays.

Mercy Hospital Logan County
Department: Med/Surg
Status: Full-Time, 36 hours per week
Shift: Nights, 7pm-7am
Rotating weekends and holidays
Mercy Hospital Logan County is a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital located in Guthrie, Oklahoma providing care to Observation, Inpatient and Swing patients. Our unit Patient/Nurse ratio is 5:1. Nursing staff work closely with the Therapy department to provide coordinated, excellent care to facilitate the highest level of return to pre-hospitalization lifestyle.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
- Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Other unit specific certifications as required or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.
