- Additional Info: - Will cater to ED consults - Heart or Neuro Pedia patients will be transferred to Duke Hosp - Elicits, records, and interprets the pediatric, past medical, family and psychosocial history of the child's parents - Performs a complete physical examination - Develops and implements an initial plan for differential diagnosis and management of presenting problems - Acts as a patient advocate - Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures - Requests and interprets necessary laboratory and radiographic data - Perform a sepsis workup - Writes and effectively communicates appropriate orders - Performs daily reassessment and documentation of problems, patient progress, and revisions in management plans - Communicates appropriate information - Demonstrates the knowledge and skills - Develops competency in neonatal circumcision with appropriate supervised training - Works effectively with others demonstrating tact, discretion and confidentiality - Demonstrates the ability to properly prioritize tasks and complete them in a timely manner - Conducts self in accordance with organizational values - Supports organizational goals related to safety, quality and patient experience - Supports activities of nursing management - Participates in department and enforcement of policies and standards - Maintains PNP/FNP certification status - Fulfills mandatory educational requirements annually, which include but is not limited to BLS, PALS, and annual employee health screening
