Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of experience, a GA or compact RN license, and current BLS and ACLS certifications for a night shift contract.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Common diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, PE/DVT, and vascular issues
• Patient ratio is 1:4-5 with an average daily census of 35
• Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR systems
• Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units is required
• No call requirements
• Scrub color is navy blue
• No holiday RTO will be approved; travelers are required to work assigned major holidays according to contract guidelines
• Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed, with no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Individuals must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one year to be eligible for return as a traveler
• Returned travelers must have completed a successful assignment outside Piedmont if previously unable to return
• Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift in the same unit
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Full compliance is required to start on time; delays in compliance can result in a two-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years recent telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Two supervisory references from a manager or above required for consideration
