Join Our Team as a Locum Physician in Emergency Medicine Lansing, MI
Are you a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician seeking flexible, rewarding locum opportunities? We are currently recruiting for a highly motivated physician to provide exceptional care at our Lansing-area facility. This role offers the chance to impact patient lives directly while enjoying competitive pay and comprehensive support, all within a dynamic emergency department serving a high-volume patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert emergency care to approximately 110 patients daily in a fast-paced environment.
- Supervise and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and residents.
- Perform a wide range of emergency procedures including airway management, vascular access, EKG interpretation, orthopedic procedures, and minor trauma interventions.
- Manage adult outpatient, pediatric, neonatal, and psychiatric cases confidently and efficiently.
- Ensure patient safety and quality outcomes through accurate diagnosis and treatment.
Required Skills:
- Valid medical license in the state of Michigan.
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
- Proven proficiency in performing procedures such as intubation, central line placement, lumbar puncture, arthrocentesis, and wound suturing.
- Ability to interpret EKG results and manage acute volume and blood pressure issues.
- Strong supervisory skills with experience overseeing APPs and residents.
- Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience working in trauma Level 3 emergency settings.
- Knowledge of Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Familiarity with hospital protocols concerning admissions and transfers.
- Prior locum or temporary staffing experience in emergency medicine.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Minimum of 2 years' emergency medicine experience, ideally in high-volume, diverse environments.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications.
Other Requirements:
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Usage of DocTime for clock-in/out, with orientation services provided at half the hourly rate.
- Ability to handle a busy ED environment with minimal supervision.
- Expenses covered per client policy, with additional licensure, certification, travel, and reimbursement considerations as applicable.
