The Senior Electrical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of commercial and data center electrical construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client engagement. This role requires strong leadership skills to coordinate teams, manage subcontractors, and ensure timely project delivery within budget. Expertise in project estimating, change order management, and scheduling software is essential for success in mission-critical environments.
Position Summary:
The Electrical Project Manager will oversee all aspects of project execution, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and customer relations, ensuring successful delivery of mission-critical data center projects. This role requires a hands-on leader with a proven track record managing commercial and data center electrical construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Manage all aspects of project execution, including financial performance, scheduling, tracking, forecasting, and change order management.
- Client & Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors, ensuring project goals, quality standards, and deadlines are consistently met.
- Estimating & Change Orders: Prepare project estimates, review vendor/subcontractor quotes and scopes, negotiate with clients, and manage change order processes.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules; coordinate with General Contractor schedules; utilize pull planning techniques; leverage scheduling software and understand work breakdown structures. Collaborate closely with Project Superintendent and field teams to meet deadlines, maintain constraint logs, and align manpower with budgeted resources.
- Leadership & Team Development: Define roles and responsibilities, identify strengths and weaknesses, provide feedback, and create training opportunities for developing talent. Effectively lead internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager on commercial, healthcare, and/or data center electrical construction projects.
- Proven experience managing electrical construction projects up to $10M.
- Strong ability to prepare take-offs, estimates, and change orders.
- Proficient in project scheduling software, work breakdown structures, and pull planning methodologies.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in high-pressure, mission-critical environments.
