The Social Worker Clinical Specialist provides direct and indirect clinical social work services, including counseling and treatment planning for individuals, families, and groups in outpatient health settings. They collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to address diverse mental health needs and act as role models for peers in delivering efficient and effective care. This role requires a Master's degree in Social Work, state licensure as an LCSW, and relevant professional experience in clinical social work.
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides professional level skills required in clinical social work, affording direct and indirect services to clients in health settings and working with a multidisciplinary team in evaluation and treatment planning for individuals, families and groups in the outpatient setting. Primary responsibility is providing counseling for patients. Offers a broad spectrum of mental health services to clients with a multiplicity of needs. Serves as a role model for other staff, establishing priorities for self and peers, ensuring that services are rendered in a prompt, efficient and effective manner. Actively supports the policies and procedures of University Health.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited school, three years current experience in social work and demonstrated level of clinical social work skills indicative of ability to engage in self-regulated practice are required.
LICENSURE
State licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners is required.
