Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic surgical team. This role involves scrubbing and circulating duties for operative procedures and managing department admissions to the operative suite. The RN will report to the Nurse Manager and work under the direct supervision of the assigned RN in the operating room.
Position Details- Location: Boston, MA
- Duration: 13 weeks (extension eligible)
- Pay: $84/hr (Travel pay is $3,800/week)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Schedule:
- Full-time, 40 hours/week
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- No weekends or holidays
- Provide perioperative nursing care following established standards and protocols.
- Perform scrubbing and circulating duties for surgical procedures, including Urology, Vascular, Orthopedic, and General Surgery.
- Assist with operative procedures, instrument handling, and sponge/instrument counts.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Document nursing care processes and patient outcomes accurately.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards.
- Current and valid Massachusetts RN license.
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a hospital, clinic, or medical facility.
- At least 6 months in a supervisory or charge role preferred.
- BLS certification (additional certifications may be required).
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing principles, surgical instruments, and emergency procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in Urology, Vascular, Orthopedic, and General OR cases.
- Ability to manage surgical suites and assist in surgical emergencies.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
