Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Care Unit will provide care for patients recovering from cardiac surgeries. The nurse will manage fresh open-heart admissions from the OR and monitor patients with complex cardiac conditions.
Responsibilities- Manage direct open heart admissions from the OR.
- Monitor patients requiring advanced cardiac care, including pressure monitoring and Swan-Ganz management.
- Oversee the use and management of Impella devices and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
- Administer care for ventilated patients and manage dysrhythmias.
- Perform pre/post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients.
- Assist with the insertion/removal of chest tubes and management of arterial lines.
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a critical care setting.
- Current RN License (WV or compact license acceptable).
- ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- Experience managing complex patients, including those with multi-system organ dysfunction.
- Travel experience is preferred but not required.
