A Pediatric Hospitalist Physician provides specialized care for pediatric patients including initial resuscitation and management of high-risk deliveries, ongoing care for newborns, and management of pediatric admissions within the hospital. They consult with emergency department providers for appropriate patient care levels and ensure timely hospital response. This role involves 24-hour call shifts and covers nursery, pediatric floor, and ICU patients weighing 15 kg or more, without ventilator management.
Location: Near Denver, CO
1 HR and 30 min from downtown Denver
Duration: ASAP 3 -6 Months
Reason for coverage: FTE open, due to provider absence
Schedule: 24hr call and call back
Shift: Call
Patient volume: 250 deliveries per year
40-50 pediatric admissions per year, including through ED and direct admission. Initial resuscitation/management for all high-risk deliveries performed at Hospital (unplanned C/S, fetal distress, preterm).
Scope: Ped Hospitalist
Responsibilities
- Initial resuscitation/management for all high-risk deliveries performed at Hospital (unplanned C/S, fetal distress, preterm)
- Ongoing management of newborns
- Management of pediatric admissions for bread-and-butter conditions within facility level of care
- Consultation with ED providers regarding appropriate level of care/transfer
- Response time to the hospital in 30 minutes or less if requested
Of Note: Providers at local clinic will cover their patients during the days but will sign out for nocturnal coverage and occasionally for weekend coverage.

Requirements (boards, license): Active Colorado license highly preferred, IMLC with LOQ in hand can be considered, board cert, clean background in order to issue temp privileges
