Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48-hour contracts available upon request)
• Overtime begins after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts
• Every third weekend and every other holiday required
• Float requirement as first to float within skillset to other campus locations
• Potential float to campuses 8-11 miles away with 2-hour notice
• Mid-shift float possible within same campus
• 13-week contract length
• Must wear navy blue scrubs with no competing health system or agency logos
• 2 years RN experience required including one solid year of stepdown/PCU experience
• One travel assignment experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with checkoff class
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS
• Must pass telemetry interpretation tests
• Care for stepdown/PCU patient population including sepsis, CHF, COPD, DKA patients
• Manage drips including insulin, heparin, and cardiac drips
• Handle post-surgical patients from urology, abdominal, and orthopedic procedures
• Patient ratios: Night shift 1:5-6 patients
• May require precepting students and new hires
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills essential
• Three call-ins can result in termination
