Full-time night Registered Nurse role in Labor & Delivery at Piedmont Athens providing comprehensive peripartum care (triage, labor, delivery, OR, recovery, postpartum, newborn nursery) across a unit supporting ~3,000 annual deliveries. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation, coordination of assigned staff, and adherence to hospital policies with staffing ratios typically 1:2 (laboring) and 1:1 (active labor/OR). Requires RN licensure in Georgia (or eNLC), BLS, nursing program graduate (new grads eligible), with hospital experience, BSN, and specialty certifications preferred.

Our unit is made up of 2 ORs, 2 Pre Op/PACU rooms, 14 labor rooms and 4 OB/ED beds that support 3000 deliveries annually. We provide comprehensive care for a wide range of patients and obstetric needsfrom triage and labor to surgical delivery, recovery, postpartum, newborn nursery, and gynecologic care.
Our team thrives on strong prioritization, professionalism, and collaboration to provide safe, patient-centered care. Staffing ratios are thoughtfully guided by patient acuity and volume: 1:2 in laboring patients and 1:1 in active labor and OR/recovery. Responsibilities:RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of a nursing program
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
BLS certification required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
For PRN positions: One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred
Bachelor?s degree preferred
Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
