Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology night shift position requiring a current MT or compact license and at least one year of oncology experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in an acute oncology unit within a hospital setting
- Responsible for adult oncology patients requiring medical-surgical care
- Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, three days per week
- Use EPIC electronic medical record system
- May be required to float to other departments depending on business needs
- Potential on-call requirements during regularly scheduled shifts
- Practice independent and delegated nursing functions in accordance with state Board of Nursing standards
- Assess, implement, and evaluate patient care and treatment plans for oncology patients
- Provide patient education, health counseling, and therapy as appropriate
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and supervise support staff as needed
- Documentation must meet hospital and regulatory standards
- Must adhere to hospital mission, vision, and service behavior standards
Requirements
- Active MT or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ASN required; BSN preferred)
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
- At least 1 year of recent experience in oncology or the specialty considered
- Experience with EPIC charting preferred
