Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) provide critical respiratory care including monitoring and weaning oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, performing arterial blood gas and EKG analysis, and delivering therapeutic procedures. They operate, maintain, and repair respiratory equipment to ensure proper functionality and cleanliness. The role involves working shifts, performing routine and advanced respiratory therapies in a clinical setting.
Responsibilities
Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) monitor and wean Oxygen Therapy and artificial ventilation. The RRT draws, analyzes, and reports Arterial Blood Gases and EKG tests. RRT job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver intermittent therapy and assist with changing of artificial airways
- Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure and CPR and bag-mask ventilation
- RRT operates, maintains, and repairs respiratory equipment to ensure proper static functioning, cleanliness, and operation
