Description
- Provide and document information related to arriving and departing aircraft to facilitate safe and effective operations and generate required operational data; complete advisories to pilots and by logging the activities of all aircrafts arriving and departing.

- Provides airport advisory service to pilots by giving information on radio for incoming and departing aircraft operations.
- Logs data of aircrafts arriving and departing in operator log.
- Maintains airport safety and security by watching for any hazards, animals or debris on runways, failed gates, or suspicious activities in or around airport area.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES- Completes other building and grounds duties as needed.
- Attends meetings and training sessions.
- Performs additional duties to support operational requirements as assigned.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED or knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes (equivalent to high school education), and up to one year of experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the specific requirements listed above.
Certifications/Licenses- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record according to City criteria.
- Pilot’s license if no previous experience working in operations or control tower.
Job Knowledge
Basic familiarity with the work to know common principles and terminology and to understand and solve simple problems.
Reading
Basic: Ability to recognize meaning of common two- or three-syllable words.
Writing
Basic: Ability to write simple sentences containing subject, verb, and object, and/or series of numbers, names, and addresses.
Math
Basic: Ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Communication Skills
Requires providing basic information to others outside direct reporting relationships on procedures or general policies. Contacts may require the consideration of different points of view to reach understanding and gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas.

Typically requires use of standard office equipment and telephone, and related software and hardware; and any other tools and equipment as appropriate or as assigned, including weather data computer monitor.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This work is performed in an outdoor environment and airport non-control tower, where there are no environmental or health and safety factors. The employee is expected to use appropriate protective equipment for the assigned task (hard hat, safety vest, steel-toe shoes, etc.), and any other equipment as apparent or assigned, if any.
