Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cardiac Telemetry RN for a 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit requiring strong cardiac and tele experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cardiac telemetry/stepdown unit within a hospital setting
• 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown with fast-paced, high patient turnover
• Patient population includes post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defib, ablations, acute CP/MI, and med/surg overflow
• Typical patient ratio is 1:4
• Shift is 12 hours, 7:00 pm – 7:30 am
• Required to float to all inpatient units as needed
• Every other weekend and holiday required
• Uses Epic for charting; 1 year recent Epic experience required
• Staff may be low-censused and put on call; minimum callback is 2 hours
• Caring for intermediate cardiac and stepdown patients with a high-acuity, diverse caseload
• Candidates are expected to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Scrub color is any color of choice
• Masking required at all times during flu season if declining flu/COVID vaccinations per policy
• First-time travelers are not accepted; prior travel experience is required

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license
• Certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Must pass EKG test during first week of hire
• Minimum of 1 year strong cardiac experience in SDU, intermediate cardiac, or cardiac ICU
• At least 2 years of IMC, PCU, or Telemetry experience required
• Experience with administering Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips is required
• Completion of at least one prior travel assignment
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the hospital
• Hardworking, resilient, and able to manage change well
