General Job Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat patients with autoimmune diseases, musculoskeletal disorders and other rheumatologic conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout and osteoporosis.
- Perform joint injections, aspirations and other minor procedures as necessary.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments and manage complications related to chronic conditions.
- Provide patient education about conditions, treatment options and post-care management strategies.

Minimum Education Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Residency training program in internal medicine or a related field accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
- Fellowship training in rheumatology.
License & Certifications:
- Board certification in rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM).
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Georgia.
Experience:
- While specific requirements may vary, most locum rheumatology positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting.
