This is a locum tenens Gastroenterology Physician role based in Colorado requiring 24-hour call shifts with weekend coverage, starting February 2026. The position involves performing gastroenterology procedures such as ERCP and EUS in an inpatient, Level 1 trauma hospital setting, managing adult to adolescent patients without admitting them. Candidates must be board certified with an active Colorado license, fellowship-trained, and capable of handling 5-8 endoscopic scopes daily while working closely with a multidisciplinary team onsite.

Credentialing timeframe: 60-90 days standard; Emergency privileges 1-2 weeks with clean file
Shift Details
24-hour call (7am - 7am)
Weekend coverage required
5-7 days per month
Requirements
Board Certified in Gastroenterology
Active Colorado License or IMLC (LOQ in hand at time of submission)
Active DEA (must remain active for duration of assignment)
Gastroenterology Fellowship
Clean malpractice/background
Local candidates - Highly Preferred

Support Staff: None
Patient population: Adult, Geriatric, Adolescent
Admissions: 8-10 new patients & follow-ups daily
Procedures: 5-8 scopes per day
GI consult service only; does not admit patients
24/7 intensivists, hospitalists, and trauma services onsite
