Inpatient Adult Psychiatry Openings in Desert Vista and Mesa, AZAbout the Opening

• Full-time, permanent
• Seeking an inpatient Attending Psychiatrist for our adult inpatient program
• The ideal candidate must enjoy working with hospitalized, seriously mentally ill patients
• Caseload is 9-10 patients, with an average length of stay of 22 days
• Most patients are involuntary.
• This position includes faculty appointment (for eligible candidates)
• Duties include collaboration with a psychiatric nurse practitioner and teaching of rotating medical students
• This is a full-time position with all benefits, including four weeks of paid time off, one week of CME (with an annual CME allowance of $4,000), ten paid holidays, retirement plan and employer paid malpractice coverage.
• Candidates must be Board certified or in the process of Board certification and must possess an Arizona medical license prior to beginning employment.
Additional Information:
• The medical group has 3 inpatient psychiatric hospitals. 2 of which are teaching facilities for Psychiatry residents - these hospitals are staffed with psychiatrists and residents (no APPs). The 3rd facility has medical students - it is staffed with 50% Psychiatrists 50% APPs.
• Candidates must have an M. D. or D.O. degree, valid Arizona medical license (or eligible to obtain), and be Board Certified or Board Eligible.
