Join our dedicated Pharmacy Services team at Mercy, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring safe, effective, and timely medication therapy for our patients. As a Pharmacist, you'll oversee medication preparation and dispensing, verify orders, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. This role is ideal for someone passionate about clinical pharmacy, patient care, and continuous professional development.
Pharmacy Services:
Oversee the preparation, labeling, dispensing, and delivery of medications.
Review and verify medication orders for appropriate dosing, scheduling, route, and potential interactions.
Identify and resolve medication-related issues through direct collaboration with physicians.
Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Prioritize daily tasks to meet patient and departmental needs.
Provide drug information and education to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Respond to complex medication inquiries and reactions from clinical staff.
Practice Medication Therapy Services through patient assessments and therapy recommendations.
Training & Development:
Participate in orientation and training for pharmacists, technicians, residents, and students.
Engage in ongoing professional development and educational activities.
Foster a collaborative environment by welcoming feedback and contributing to team goals.
Education:
Bachelor of Science (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from a School or College of Pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)
Licensure:
Current pharmacist license from applicable State Board of Pharmacy
Experience:
Previous retail experience preferred but not required
