Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for night shifts requiring a UT or compact RN license and certifications in BLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and NRP.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in an acute care hospital Labor & Delivery unit
- Unit includes Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, Postpartum, and OB with 3 L&D beds and postpartum overflow rooms
- Average 120-130 births per year
- Night shifts from 6pm to 6am, 12-hour shifts
- Uses PeriCalm for fetal heart monitoring and Athena for EMR documentation
- Must be willing to float to MedSurg as needed
- CNA support is provided and shared between Med/Surg and L&D units
- No in-house OB or neonatologist coverage; family practice only
- Responsible for providing care throughout the Labor & Delivery and postpartum process
- May be required to float to the MedSurg unit as needed
- Solid color scrubs are required
- Pharmacy services are on call; CRNA available if needed for advanced airway management
- No in-house respiratory therapist; support provided as needed
- First time travelers are welcome to apply
Requirements
- Active UT or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Certifications required: BLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and NRP
- Experience with PeriCalm fetal monitoring system and Athena EMR preferred
