American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Telemetry position requiring a Missouri or compact RN license and expertise in cardiac monitoring and stepdown care.
Responsibilities- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a patient ratio of 1:5
- Provides care for patients requiring telemetry, cardiac, neuro stepdown, and post-cardiac procedure management
- Performs cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
- Night shifts (3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15) with required weekend coverage (8 shifts per 6-week period, combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
- Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
- Responsible for comprehensive clinical management, including acute cardiac, neuro, endocrine, respiratory, orthopedics, and renal patient care
- Charge RN duties and holiday shift coverage as needed per unit requirements
- Participation in Rapid Response Teams and procedural support expected
- Max of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- No travel partners allowed for this assignment
- Drug screening is required; a diluted or positive result that cannot be cleared will result in cancellation and a 6-month wait for re-application
- Annual and pre-start module completion is required
- Active MO or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU or specialty experience, including at least 1 year in specialty within the past 12 months with no employment gaps over 90 days
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Experience in MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, ER Holding, Neuro Stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown required
- Ability to manage cardiac medications, hemodialysis, IV therapy, and advanced airway management
- Two professional references from the past year required, including one from a supervisor or above and the second may be a charge RN
- Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- No pending licenses accepted
