Overview:
Jeanes Hospital in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a dedicated Hospitalist (MD/DO) for an immediate start. This is a non-academic, community-based role offering strong specialty and ICU support, ideal for a physician who values teamwork, autonomy, and meaningful patient care.
Provide inpatient management for 18–20 patients per day
Conduct daily rounds and coordinate multidisciplinary care plans
Admit, evaluate, and manage adult medical patients
Respond to Rapid Response and Code Blue events (ICU and Anesthesia team support)
Perform thorough documentation and order entry in EPIC EMR
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical teams
Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives
Strong clinical decision-making and diagnostic reasoning
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven team collaboration in fast-paced inpatient settings
Skilled at managing time-sensitive priorities and multitasking
Comfortable working independently in a non-teaching environment
Proficient in EPIC EMR or similar electronic medical systems
Committed to evidence-based medicine and quality patient outcomes
Compassionate bedside manner with a focus on patient experience
MD or DO degree; completion of an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency
Eligible for or holding a Pennsylvania medical license
Board Certified or Board Eligible in IM or FM
Experience in hospital medicine preferred (new grads welcome)

Schedule: 7 on / 7 off (12-hour shifts)
Two night shifts per month
Closed ICU with intensivist coverage

Physical Demands:
This physician/APP role requires stamina in fast-paced healthcare: prolonged standing/walking (8-12 hrs/shift); rapid emergency movement (sprints, crowds); lifting/carrying 25-50 lbs equipment; pushing/pulling 100 lbs (beds/carts) with aid; frequent bending/stooping/kneeling for care; constant reaching/fine motor skills (suturing/IVs); occasional climbing/balancing; tolerating stressors (temps, noise, fluids, hazards) during irregular shifts/on-call/infection risks—accommodations for disabilities; varies by setting (clinic/ER).
