American Traveler is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist for an inpatient acute care hospital position requiring at least 1 year of recent hospital or inpatient rehab experience.
Responsibilities- Work in an inpatient acute care hospital setting at a Level III Trauma and Stroke Center
- Patient population includes ortho post-op, ICU, cardio-pulmonary, and medical-surgical patients
- Shift is 8:00am to 4:30pm on days
- Minimal exercise equipment use, with access to various mechanical lifts for transfers and mobility
- Travel position open only to candidates living outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Primary duties include evaluation, planning, and delivery of skilled physical therapy interventions for diverse acute care patients
- Must be able to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team and include families in care planning
- Pass/fail EKG testing required on first day, with up to two attempts allowed and study guides provided
- Responsible for creating individualized treatment programs and recommending appropriate assistive equipment
- Must maintain competency and participate in ongoing education and in-services
- Scrub or dress code requirements not specified
- First-time travelers will be considered if experience requirements are met
- Current and active VA Physical Therapist license required (license required if applicable)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year acute care hospital and/or inpatient rehab experience required
- No new grads unless possessing 6 months of recent acute care experience within the first year after graduation
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program required; Doctorate preferred
