American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring a WI or compact RN license and strong cath lab skills.
Responsibilities- Work in an acute care hospital setting on the Interventional Radiology (IR) unit
- Trauma Level 2 environment with a multidisciplinary procedural team
- Unit includes 7 procedure rooms (4 Cath Lab/EP and 3 IR)
- Daily caseload averages 20+ procedures including port placements, liver biopsy, IVC placements, g-tubes, PICC and central line placements, and neuro interventions
- IR procedures supported by anesthesia for neuro cases
- Staffing consists of 1 RN and 2 techs in IR, with additional support for complex cases
- Uses Cerner EMR (transitioning to Epic) and Merge equipment
- Work schedule is Monday–Friday; 10-hour shifts (7a–5:30p) or 8-hour shifts (7a–3:30p); rotating day off
- Weekday and weekend call required (one in three rotation for both), with additional holiday call coverage
- Call response time of 30 minutes
- Duties include verifying orders and consent, patient assessment and education, circulating cases, assisting with moderate sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, and documentation
- Coordinate with a multidisciplinary team including anesthesia and techs for complex cases
- Provided scrubs with the option to wear personal scrub caps
- No floating required for this role
- 2-3 days of structured orientation and shadowing provided; call with a buddy during the second week
- First week no call assigned to allow acclimation
- All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
- Return employees must have separated from previous employment for at least 6 months prior to consideration
- Candidates living within 80 miles are considered local and subject to a different rate
- Active WI or compact RN license required by start date
- Minimum of 2 years recent cath lab experience
- IABP (Intra-aortic Balloon Pump) experience required
- Current AHA certifications in BLS and ACLS required
- Two professional references are required, including one from a supervisor and one from a recent peer or supervisor
