This locum tenens position is for a Family or Internal Medicine Physician to provide primary care to the Lummi Nation community in Washington State for a 3-month assignment. The role involves delivering comprehensive care across multiple settings including clinic visits, home visits, and extended care facilities, with a focus on quality improvement and culturally respectful practices. Candidates must be licensed physicians with board certification, able to work in a multicultural environment, and committed to serving underserved populations.

About the Opportunity
The Lummi Nation Health Center is seeking a mission-driven Primary Care Physician for a 3-month locum assignment. This is a unique opportunity to provide high-quality care to the Lummi community while working in a collaborative, culturally respectful environment. Physicians will primarily serve patients at LNHC, with opportunities for home visits to meet the diverse needs of our patients.
Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive primary care for acute and chronic conditions.
Lead with a continuous quality improvement mindset.
Provide education and counseling on health behaviors and treatment options.
Document thoroughly in the electronic health record (EHR).
Participate in chart reviews, program development, and medical staff meetings.
Join the provider call pool (including nights/weekends/holidays as assigned).
Provide care in multiple settings: clinic, patient homes, nursing homes, and extended care facilities.
Collaborate with the Medical Director on quality initiatives.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree.
Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
Active Washington State Physician License.
Unrestricted DEA License.
Preference given to Lummi/Native American/Veteran candidates.
Skills & Attributes
Proficiency with EHR systems.
Strong communication skills in a multicultural environment.
Ability to balance professionalism with cultural humility during home visits.
Flexible schedule and team-oriented approach.
Additional Requirements
Must pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing.
