Key responsibilities and job details include:Concentrating on preventive care with an emphasis on recommending annual preventive visits for all patients.Treating a wide range of common chronic and acute medical conditions for patients aged 18 and older (with certain exceptions such as chronic narcotics, tranquilizers, sleeping aids, attention deficit medications, psychotropic medications, for which specialist referrals are suggested).Familiarity with E/M coding guidelines and taking charge of medical coding.Flexible workdays from Monday to Friday (4.5 workdays per week), with room for adjustment if necessary.Closed on weekends and major holidays.Patient scheduling: Typically two (2) new patients per hour or three (3) established patients (with schedule flexibility at the physician's discretion).Light on-call duties involving phone calls only.Patients typically of middle age with private insurance coverage.Support and ancillary services are readily available, including support staff such as receptionists, schedulers, medical assistants, nurses, medical billing service, in-house billers, administrative and medical support staff.
