This position is for a Critical Care/Trauma Physician responsible for providing care to trauma inpatients and emergency general surgery patients, including operative cases and trauma activations. The role includes weekday shifts, on-call duties, and collaboration with APPs, residents, and interns within a clinical environment using Epic EMR. Candidates should have surgical critical care fellowship training, required licensure including DEA and CSR, with a preference for Massachusetts licensure and a minimum assignment length of three months with paid travel.
Weekday Shifts: 7:00 AM 4:00 PM
Weekday Call: 4:00 PM 7:00 AM
Weekend Call: 6:00 AM 7:00 AM
Trauma Inpatients:
Daytime Coverage: 2 attending physicians on service
Trauma Activations
activations per 24-hour period
% blunt trauma
Emergency General Surgery (EGS) Coverage
Some call shifts include EGS coverage
EGS Consults: 0 8 per shift
Operative Cases: 0 3 per shift
Emergencies only (e.g., perforated viscus)
APP Coverage:
2 APPs during the day
1 APP overnight
Residents: PGY-3 or PGY-4
Interns:
2 during the day
1 overnight
EMR: Epic
MA License: Preferred; candidates without MA license will be considered
Fellowship: Surgical Critical Care
DEA: Required
CSR: Required
Length of Assignment: 3+ months
Travel: Paid
