We are seeking an experiencedLocums Plastic Surgery Physician to provide comprehensive clinic, OR, and callcoverage in Des Moines, Iowa. This role offers a stable weekday schedule with adefined call rotation and flexibility in block scheduling, making it anexcellent opportunity for an experienced plastic surgeon seeking a balancedlocum assignment.
Position Overview
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 36 patient contact hours per week
- Clinic Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- OR/Procedure Days: 2-4 days per week
- Call Rotation: Soft tissue call + clinic call/EMTALA
- Weekend Call: As needed
- Shift Options:
- 7 days on / 7 days off or
- 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient plastic surgery evaluations, consultations, and follow-up care.
- Perform surgical procedures during assigned OR days (2-4 days weekly).
- Participate in soft tissue call coverage and EMTALA responsibilities.
- Manage inpatient consults and ensure timely communication with hospital teams.
- Collaborate with clinic staff, OR teams, and other specialists to deliver coordinated patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation within the clinic and hospital systems.
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered surgical care in both clinic and procedural settings.
Requirements
- Board Certified in Plastic Surgery
- Active Iowa Medical License or IMLC eligibility
- Must be experience
