We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a 13-day locum tenens assignment in New York. This opportunity begins with orientation on Jan 2, 2026, and clinical work commencing Jan 5, 2026. The role features 12.5-hour shifts, with coverage open 7 days a week and a monthly schedule of 13 shifts. The position is focused on delivering high-quality oncology care within an Oncology Care Unit, providing both acute and routine management for patients with a range of cancer diagnoses.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Assess, diagnose, monitor, and manage care for patients with cancer and other benign or malignant tumors and diseases
- Promote health and protection from disease within the Oncology Care Unit
- Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations, including pelvic exams as appropriate
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic modalities within specialty training
- Implement therapeutic interventions for specific oncologic and hematologic conditions
- Perform arterial punctures and blood gas sampling
- Provide debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor surgical procedures
- Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses
- Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or orogastric tubes
- Complete Death Certificate Protocols
- Remove central venous catheters
Additional Information
- Current competence required in administering chemotherapy/biotherapy, with at least 10 administrations in the past 12 months
- Required certifications: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC), Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
- Additional required certifications: Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York is required
