American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown night shift position requiring at least two years of recent CV stepdown experience and a compact or TN RN license.
Responsibilities- Work in a Cardiac Stepdown unit within a hospital setting
- Focus on patients with cardiac or cardiovascular issues
- Team nursing model is utilized
- Typical shifts are night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:00)
- Weekend and on-call shifts may be required as needed
- Floating may occur between similar units and campus locations within a 20-mile radius
- No block scheduling available aside from possible weekend blocks
- Uses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience preferred
- Patient ratios set by team nursing structure
- Former employees and travelers must have a one-year separation before eligibility for travel assignments
- No first-time travelers are accepted unless they have 3+ years of recent relevant experience
- Holiday work is required; must be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays if they fall during the contract (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's), or at least 1 of 2 if only two fall during the assignment
- Vaccination status must be provided
- RNs may be floated to similar stepdown units within 20 miles, though this is rare
- All requests for time off must be included at the time of application and will not be accepted after an offer is made
- Active TN or compact RN license (no pending licensure)
- Minimum 2 years of recent CV stepdown experience required; 3+ years preferred
- At least one completed previous travel assignment required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher accepted
- Must live at least 100 miles from the facility (no local candidates)
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
- All requested time off must be declared at application
