Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown, IMC, or acute care nursing jobs
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills
• Must reside at least 60 miles from Hickory, NC to qualify for travel nurse assignment

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients
• Monitor and assess cardiac patients, responding to changes in condition
• Administer medications, treatments, and clinical interventions as prescribed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, procedures, and post-discharge care
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing professional development for nurses
