Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg day shift position with renal experience and every other weekend coverage required.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a hospital-based Medical Surgical unit specializing in renal Med/Surg care
- Adult and geriatric patient population
- Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6 with 49 rooms and a daily census of 48
- Utilizes Epic EMR (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
- Day shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
- Floating to other units is required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Required to work every other weekend
- Main responsibilities include delivering comprehensive nursing care to renal Med/Surg patients
- First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
- Travel pairs cannot be assigned the same shift on the same unit
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- Holiday coverage is required according to assignment length and facility guidelines
- No blocked scheduling allowed
- Return to any Piedmont facility requires one year away or a successful interim assignment elsewhere
- RTO not permitted during the first week and is limited to a maximum of 7 days per assignment
- Full compliance with onboarding and orientation is required to start as scheduled
- Locals are accepted at the same rate
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg experience
- Current BLS certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must provide two managerial or higher supervisory references for consideration
- Must not have been a permanent or PRN employee at Piedmont within the last year
