The role involves ICU patient management, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and covering day, night, and weekend shifts. Elite Locum Opportunity: Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgeon in Maryland! We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgeon for a 6-month locum assignment near District Heights, MD. This role is ideal for a seasoned surgical professional with advanced expertise in complex coronary artery bypass grafting, minimally invasive valve repairs, and transcatheter structural heart procedures. Position Details Start Date: February 2nd Contract Length: 6 months Schedule: Full-time; Day, Night & Weekend coverage Shifts: 5 days/week, 8-hour shifts (7:00 18:00) Call: Every other weeknight & every third weekend Requirements Board Certification in Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery Active Maryland medical license (Rockville) DEA & CSR BLS & ACLS Minimum 5 years of relevant experience Key Responsibilities Perform advanced cardiac surgeries, including CABG and minimally invasive valve procedures Manage ICU patients and provide critical care Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and advanced practice providers Utilize Cerner EMR Preferred Qualifications Structural Heart Fellowship or advanced structural heart training ECMO and arrhythmia surgery experience Leadership ability for potential Surgical Director, Structural Heart Program role This is a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully within a high-performing hospital environment.
