The OB/GYN Hospitalist provides comprehensive obstetric care including deliveries, triage, patient management, and surgical assistance in a Level I Trauma Center in Palm Springs, CA. The role involves collaboration with maternal-fetal medicine specialists, support of a Level-III NICU, and participation in teaching medical trainees. This full-time or part-time position requires board certification in OB/GYN, a California medical license, and DEA certification.

Our practice is located within the Desert Regional Medical Center, a 387-bed tertiary acute care facility that stands as the only Level I Trauma Center in Coachella Valley, serving over 8,000 square miles in Southeastern California.
Job Responsibilities:- Fulfill a full-time position with approximately 7.5 24-hour in-house shifts/month (2190 hours annually) or a minimum of 5.5 shifts/month (1560 hours annually).
- Provide comprehensive OB care including delivery attendance, OB triage, patient evaluation and management, surgical assists, fetal monitoring, and ER coverage.
- Collaborate with MFM for rounds and consults on high-risk patients.
- Engage in a practice that attends to about 60 deliveries per month.
- Support a 30-bed community Level-III NICU for newborns at 23 weeks and above.
- Participate in teaching opportunities with fellows, residents, and medical students.
- Work alongside a team of 2 OB Hospitalists in-house 24/7, ensuring no shift is worked alone.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN.
- California medical license or the willingness to obtain one.
- OB Hospitalist work experience preferred.
- Commitment to either full-time or part-time employment.
- Local residency or willingness to relocate.
- DEA certification required (to be obtained prior to start).
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN.
- Valid California medical license or the ability to acquire one.
- DEA certification (mandatory prior to starting).
