American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a long-term care setting, requiring a WI or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Responsibilities- Work in a long-term care/skilled nursing facility attached to a hospital
- Unit serves 70 residents, majority of whom are elderly, frail, or have dementia, and some require rehabilitation
- Patient ratios: 1 RN to 20 residents, 1 LPN to 20 residents, 1 CNA to 8 residents
- Common duties include charting, assessments, charge duties, medication administration, and clinical procedures such as IVs, catheters, and ostomy care
- EMR used is ECS
- Shifts are 8 hours: 6:30am-3pm, 2:30pm-11pm, and 10:30pm-7am, with block scheduling
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating may be required within the facility
- Responsibilities include direct patient care, care planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members such as therapy, social work, dietary, and administration
- Unit has physician and respiratory therapy availability after hours, and pharmacy support with onsite medication dispensing
- Scrub attire must be any solid color, clean, and professional
- Orientation details based on skills and experience
- All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
- Candidates within 80 miles are considered local and subject to adjusted rates
- Must be available to cover at least half of the holidays during assignment
- Active WI or compact RN license required by start date
- Current BLS (AHA) certification
- Minimum of 1 year RN experience, with experience in elderly populations required
- Two professional references required, including one from a supervisor and one from a supervisor or peer
- Former permanent staff must have a minimum six-month gap prior to consideration
