Job Description
American Traveler seeks a Physical Therapist for an acute care hospital assignment, requiring Illinois PT license, BLS, and Epic charting experience.
Responsibilities
- Position is in an acute care hospital setting
- Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:30PM, with 8-hour shifts
- Patient care is focused on acute therapy cases, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Requires experience in Level 1 Trauma environments
- EPIC is the required EMR for all documentation
- Responsibilities include safe patient transfers, development and adjustment of plans of care, and use of standardized outcome measures
- Education of patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare providers is an integral part of the role
- Expected to supervise PTAs and rehabilitation technicians according to regulations
- Requires compliance with all documentation standards and regulatory policies
- No local candidates accepted; must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Approved time off should not exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
- Returning travelers must wait 6 months after one year of service before returning
- Professional dress code required; specific scrub requirements not listed
- No travel partners accepted for this assignment
Requirements
- Valid Illinois PT license required if applicable
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of one year recent physical therapy experience
- Experience in Level 1 Trauma settings and with Epic EMR is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy is required
- New graduates will be considered
