Unit: 25-bed Ortho-focused Med-Surg (Meditech) with post-op hip/knee/spine patients
Ratios/Staffing: 5–6+:1; typically 4–5 nurses + 1–3 PCTs; dept secretary limited coverage (expanding)
Schedule: 3x12s/week, every other weekend; block scheduling not guaranteed
Float: To like Med-Surg units as needed
Requirements: BLS, post-op patient experience; Meditech preferred; positive attitude
Patient experience expectations: Bedside shift report, safety rounding (q1h days/q2h nights), AIDET, respectful “treat as family” culture
