Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a SC or compact RN license and at least two years of Med/Surg experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Medical/Surgical unit
- 12-hour day shifts, three shifts per week for a 13-week assignment
- Role focused on providing competent and efficient patient care
- Must live at least 100 miles from the facility
- No local candidates within a 100-mile radius are eligible
- Responsible for conducting initial and ongoing patient assessments and documenting appropriately
- Delivers age-appropriate care applying knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan
- Completes admission assessments according to policy and procedure guidelines
- Adapts care based on patient needs and demonstrates understanding of treatment requirements
- Two manager or supervisor references from the last twelve months are preferred
- COVID and flu vaccinations may be required as part of onboarding
- No prior permanent employment with the facility is allowed
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Requirements
- Active SC or compact RN license is required at the time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg experience in a U.S. hospital required
- Minimum of 2 years total RN experience required
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA only) are required
- CPI certification (Crisis Prevention Institute's NCI With Advanced Physical Skills Training) is required
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program is required
- BSN is highly desired but not required
- Must have valid U.S. Social Security Number
