Position Overview:
We are seeking a Design Engineer II to join a dynamic engineering team supporting high-impact manufacturing and product development initiatives. This role is ideal for a mid-level engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical design, CAD modeling, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of products and systems used in industrial and consumer applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine mechanical designs using CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and quality to ensure design feasibility and performance.
- Conduct design reviews, tolerance analysis, and FMEA to ensure robust product development.
- Support prototype development and testing, interpreting results to guide design improvements.
- Maintain documentation and design records in accordance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing projects.
- Provide technical support for production processes and troubleshoot design-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design or product development.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and design documentation.
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and GD&T.
- Experience with design validation, testing, and root cause analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter).
- Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.
