ScheduleFull-time, 36 hours/week, with three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend and holiday.
Job DescriptionThe Registered Respiratory Therapist assesses patients' respiratory care needs, plans, organizes, performs, and evaluates treatment modalities to meet those needs. The role prioritizes optimizing the patient and family experience through excellent customer interactions, ideally with NICU experience.
Responsibilities- Perform and document thorough patient assessments.
- Establish appropriate care plans and communicate effectively with the patient care team.
- Administer therapeutic modalities including aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and pulmonary volume expansion.
- Initiate and manage mechanical ventilators according to established protocols.
- Provide patient and family education regarding disease management and treatment plans.
- Assist with intra-hospital transport of mechanically ventilated patients and emergency airway management.
- Set up and manage non-invasive monitoring systems.
- Collect arterial blood gas samples and process through point of care blood analyzers.
- Assist the medical team during fiberoptic bronchoscopy procedures and in the placement of invasive monitoring lines.
- Function as a preceptor for new employees and students in clinical rotations.
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program.
- Valid PA License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification.
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certified Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification.
- S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification.
