Our job summary

The CNC Lathe Set-Up Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes, primarily Hardinge and Haas machines, in a production environment. The role involves performing tooling offsets, minor program edits, and precision inspections using measuring tools to ensure quality parts. Candidates should have prior experience with Fanuc and Haas controls, strong blueprint reading skills, and be detail-oriented in maintaining production documentation and a safe work environment.

Position Title: CNC Lathe Set-Up Operator

Wage: $25-$30/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 6am-2:30pm

QPS is seeking a detail-oriented CNC Lathe Set-Up Operator to join our client’s growing production team in Hartland, WI. This role is ideal for a machinist who enjoys hands-on setup work, thrives in a climate-controlled shop environment, and takes pride in producing high-quality, precision parts.

CNC Lathe Set-Up Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Set up and operate Hardinge and Haas CNC lathes
- Work with Fanuc and Haas controls; perform tooling offsets and minor program edits as needed
- Perform hourly part inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring equipment
- Accurately complete quality documentation and maintain production records
- Troubleshoot set-up or machining issues to keep production running smoothly
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment

CNC Lathe Set-Up Operator Requirements:
- Prior CNC lathe set-up and operation experience (Hardinge or Haas preferred)
- Familiarity with Fanuc and Haas controls
- Ability to perform tooling offsets; program editing experience is a plus
- Proficiency in using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Strong blueprint reading and part inspection skills
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality
