The Machine Operator at Packaging Corporation of America is responsible for operating and maintaining production equipment to ensure efficient manufacturing of packaging products. Duties include quality checks, problem-solving machine issues, leading crew setups, and reporting. The role requires mechanical aptitude, teamwork, and flexibility to work varied shifts in a manufacturing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform a variety of manufacturing tasks using Production Equipment to ensure steady workflow.
Ensure a high quality product is coming off the machine.
Conduct quality checks to ensure boxes have required dimensions and zero material defects.
Lead machine crew with setups/change overs.
Problem solve when issues with the machine arise.
Complete necessary reports.
Other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED.
Strong safety background and good attendance record.
Works well in a team environment.
Ability to work any shift, including overtime and weekends.
Strong mechanical aptitude and be good communicator.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience operating corrugated printing equipment.
Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment, with an understanding that temperatures and volumes of work may vary.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Starting salary for position: $27.36 per hour.
- Bonus: Annual – Based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
- Paid Vacation: 2 weeks per calendar year after one year
- Paid Holidays.
