The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will assess, develop, and provide speech, language, and feeding/swallowing services to preschool and school-age students. You will design therapy programs tailored to each child’s communication needs while supporting classroom success and meaningful social engagement.
Responsibilities Include:
- Screen, evaluate, and diagnose speech, language, and feeding/swallowing needs following ASHA guidelines.
- Develop therapy goals and intervention strategies aligned with each student’s IEP and school philosophy.
- Deliver direct and small-group speech therapy using evidence-based practices.
- Maintain documentation, including evaluation reports, daily notes, progress summaries, and IEP updates.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, parent conferences, and professional consultations.
- Assess the effectiveness of classroom language/communication strategies and collaborate with educators to support communication in academic settings.
- Act as a child advocate and help support communication goals across home, school, and community environments.
Qualifications:

Education: Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology.

Certification/License: NYS Speech licensure and NYS Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped Certification (TSHH/TSSLD).

Experience: Pediatric or school-based experience preferred.

Soft Skills: Strong communication, advocacy, collaboration, sound judgment, and ability to work effectively with children and multidisciplinary teams.
