We are seeking an experienced Surgery - Trauma Nurse Practitioner for a 30-day locum tenens assignment in Pennsylvania. This opportunity begins on Feb 1, 2026, and consists of 12-hour day and night shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a), with 8-10 inpatient shifts per month and no call required. Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform central line placement, chest tube placement, incision and drainage, laceration repairs, and wound debridement
- Provide inpatient coverage for trauma and emergency general surgery services at a Level 2 Trauma Center
- Conduct morning rounds, assist in the operating room, and evaluate new emergency general surgery consults
- Manage inpatient service, including trauma activations and critical care management
- Care for cases such as cholecystectomy, appendectomy, trauma exploratory laparotomy, colon resections, graham patch repairs, and hernia repairs
- Collaborate with trauma surgeons, nursing staff, and ancillary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
Additional Information
- Active Pennsylvania state license required
- Board certified; DEA and CSR required
- Certifications required: ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
